My name is Emily and I am a lacquerhead living in beautiful Ohio, USA.  I am a 25 year old, newlywed, vegetarian, happiness-follower who LOVES NAIL POLISH!  It has become a hobby that I am very passionate about, so much so that I have decided to pursue it as a career.  I finished my course in nail technology in July 2012 and am currently working as a natural nails nail tech and nail artist at Body•Spa•Banquet Nails in Canton, OH!  I love spending time searching for new polish, reading beauty blogs, doing my nails and my friends' nails!  I am very excited to be a part of the fantastic community of beauty bloggers out there as well as the cosmetology industry! =)

Many people ask me why nails?  Why would give up a career in another field (six years of higher ed in life sciences) to pursue something like this?  The answer to this question is two-fold.  First of all, I am a passion-driven person, and I must follow that where it takes me!  The creativity involved in manicures and nail art delights me, and I apply the critical thinking I learned in my "past-life" as a scientist in many ways in this new career that I did not expect!  Secondly, I love to make people feel good!  There is too much "bad" in the world...women need something frivolous and slightly excessive that makes them feel confident and strong!  I want people to leave me better than they came to me.  Whether that is fun nail art, moisturized cuticles, or a relaxing spa pedicure, I want to be in a field that improves quality of life and happiness.  <3
