Hello friends! Today I am excited to share some news with you: Nail Art Society is back! I know many of you were subscribed to NAS before and were disappointed for a variety of reasons, and NAS heard you! After canceling all of the subscriptions and taking a few month off to recuperate, NAS is back for business. For $9.95/month plus $4.95 shipping, you will receive a curated nail art kit (kits will generally ship mid-month, but the August kit will ship early September). Today I have the August kit to share with you, and a manicure that I created with it. Also, I wanted to let you all know that Nail Art Society is hosting a Nail Art Society Welcome Back Contest [here]! Go enter! =)
The August 2013 Nail Art Society Kit includes Orly Instant Artist Water-Based Paint stripers. You'll also get Cala Profession Nail Arts Water Decals in a variety of butterfly designs. While these aren't really my style, they are definitely the nice water decals I see at the beauty supply all the time. I wanted to give the stripers a try, so I created a manicure specifically showcasing those....
For this manicure, I started with a manicure in Color Club East Austin and used the Orly Instant Artist stripers in Jet Black, Crisp White and Platinum to create a striped tribal design across the nail. I sealed everything in with Glisten & Glow HK Girl top coat. The stripers were nice to work with. I did have to trim the very end of the brush, just because I don't really like when there is just one bristle sticking out at the end (you can see where it poked out a bit when I did the 90 degree angles on the zigzags). Aside from that, they were easy to work with. Also, since they are water-based, you are able to remove just the nail art from your manicure and start fresh! When I tried this out, it worked nicely, but there were some black streaks that wouldn't come off the nail with just water. But still...a super easy way to fix mistakes!
The August Kit from NAS is nice...I think they stripers are super nice quality and the decals are nice, just not personally my style. What do you think? Learn more about how Nail Art Society works [here] and subscribe [here]! Even if you were signed up before, you MUST CREATE A NEW ACCOUNT to receive the new kits. You can unsubscribe at any time.
