Hi everyone! Today I have a newer indie brand to share with you: That One Nail Polish! The sweet Roxette has recently launched this line with a variety of unique polishes that I am excited to show you! Check out her cute bottle labels. I love that they are hand written, but in her crisp, clean handwriting! And be sure to read on for a promo code exclusively for The Lacquerologist readers!
I am impressed with the uniqueness of the glitter mixes that Roxette sent me, as all of these are unique in my collection. The only complaint I have is that the formula is a bit thick on some of these. I'll discuss this with each swatch, as some were thicker than others.
First up we have That One Nail Polish Wipe Out, a glitter mix consisting of blue and teal matte hexes with smaller matte black hexes in a clear base. The blue and teal hexes are so vibrant. I adore it! I've layered one coat over Zoya Trixie with Out the Door here. The formula on this one was pretty good. It took a bit of effort to place the glitters where you want them, but it wasn't too bad.
That One Nail Polish Cleopatra is a royal glitter mix! Reflective gold hexes and matte teal hexes in a clear base! I wanted to choose a rich base color for this one, so I went with OPI Anti-Bleak from the Mariah Carey Collection. This is one coat of Cleopatra (with Out the Door). This is so shiny and could be cool over a variety of colors. The formula on this one was quite thick, but once the glitters were out of the bottle and spread on the nail, it was worth it!
That One Nail Polish Jazz is a mix of soft pink and gold reflective hexes in a clear base. I am loving this one! My best friend is getting married in March and these are her wedding colors! Here I have layered one coat of Jazz over Deborah Lippmann Sugar Daddy, a pink-champaigne duochrome...a match made in heaven! Out the Door smoothed everything out very nicely! The formula was a bit thick, but very workable. Loving this one.
That One Nail Polish Callisto is a super fun mix of small round teal glitters, blue microglitters and silver holo stars and moons! Super fun. I layered one coat of Callisto (plus a little fishing for the stars and moons) over Priti NYC Canterbury Bells with Out the Door. The stars and moons were not difficult to get out at all, but on some nails I had to do a second dip to ensure that I got some on that particular nail. The formula was easy to work with. According to That One Nail Polish's Instagram, this one is being discontinued to make room for newer shades so it is now available BOGO Free along with Typhoon, Icicle, and Star Struck with code CHEAP01 (code valid at time of publication).
That One Nail Polish Ready, Set, Hex! is a simple mix of light blue, blue, orange, green, purple glitters in a clear base. The glitters are very reflective, and this funky color combo could be layered over lots of polishes! Here I have layered one coat of Ready, Set, Hex! over Zoya Neely with Out the Door. The formula was on the thick side but workable.
Ahhh this one is awesome! That One Nail Polish Star Struck is so fun and unique. This is silver hexes and microglitters with black matte stars! So cool and edgy. I've layered one to 1.5 coats of Star Struck over Nicole by OPI Still Into Pink with Out the Door here. I say 1.5 coats because on some nails I filled in a bit to add some more stars =) So sparkly and fun. Sadly, this one is also being discontinued so it is now available BOGO Free along with Typhoon, Icicle, and Callisto with code CHEAP01 (code valid at time of publication).
That One Nail Polish On The Rocks is a super unique shade that I'm sure will end up being a big hit for Roxette! A variety of matte black and white glitters in a milky gray-white base. This one is really thick, but mostly because it is soooo dense with glitter. If you take your time with it and apply controlled, thin coats, you will love how this one looks! Here I've done two coats (with a bit of filling in in a few spots) with Gelous top coat to smooth out the gritty surface. You could probably also layer this over black, white, or gray, but you may lose some of the depth of this one. Super cool.
And finally we have That One Nail Polish Blue Are You? which I know has already been sold out on Roxette's site. This is a deep blue jelly base packed with iridescent pastel glitter! I'm sad to report that my experience with this shade wasn't 100% positive. It was sooooo thick that I could hardly get it out of the bottle and on to the nail. It wasn't necessarily thick with glitter, but the base itself was hardly in a liquid state. Perhaps my bottle somehow evaporated during shipping or I just got a dud bottle. I added quite a large amount of nail polish thinner (I use the Orly brand one...I picked it up at Sally Beauty Supply) and shook vigorously and it thinned out nicely. Still on the thicker side, but much, much easier to work with. Here I have used two coats of my thinned out polish with Gelous top coat, and it is quite gorgeous! If you are a blue fan, and you're willing to work with it a bit, this one is definitely a stunner!
So there you have it! My first experience with That One Nail Polish! Overall, I am pleased, though most of these had thick-ish formula. The polishes are unique and fun, and I love that I'm seeing some different things from this line =) I'd definitely suggest picking up Star Struck before it's gone! I also love the matte glitters in Wipe Out and Cleopatra and the shininess of Jazz! On The Rocks is probably the most unique one here, and it combines the trends of black and white glitters along with the milky base! Lots to love here, and I'm excited to see how this brand grows!

I'm not a fan of clear based glitters, but I have to say, damn!! All of these are all making me reconsider clear bases. Plus, your swatches always make me drool! :)
