OPI Skyfall Collection Part II: Swatches and Review!

Hi guys, and welcome to Part II of my OPI Skyfall Collection swatches!  Lots of warm and cozy holiday shades here.  To see the cooler side of this collection, click [HERE]!  Let's jump right into the swatches...

First up we have OPI Casino Royale, a gorgeous warm plum creme!  I absolutely adore this shade and think it is so perfect for the colder months!  I actually had this polish before I recieved the collection to review, and I used it in my plaid manicure [here].  My only complaint is that the bottle I had from before looks different from the one OPI sent me....the one from OPI is slightly more purple, while the one I bought at my local beauty supply looks a bit pinker to me.  Once on the nail, I'm not sure I saw as much of a difference, but still just something to note.  This is two super easy coats with NYC top coat.

OPI Die Another Day is a red-orange shimmer.  This sort of reminds me of China Glaze Bend Over Backwards from the Cirque du Soleil Collection.  This is pretty, and if you like this shade of red, I'm sure you'll love this one.  Nice formula with no brush stroke issues.  Two coats with top coat.

OPI Goldeneye is a gold glass fleck polish and it is a stunner!  The flecks in this one are quite coarse, but they come together to create this phenomenal foil-like finish!  Love it.  This is three coats with NYC top coat!

The namesake of the collection, this is OPI Skyfall.  I'll be honest, I don't really like it.  As a nail tech, I work with colors like this quite often.  The non-lacquer-obsessed masses love weird redish shades like this and it baffles me!  So many gorgeous colors out there to be explored and this is what people pick...buuuuut to each their own!  Haha.  The formula on this was outstanding, even if I'm not crazy about the color.  Two coats with NYC.

OPI The Spy Who Loved Me is a gorgeous red polish with a golden shimmer throughout.  In certain lights this looked more of a berry pink-red and in some it was fire truck red!  The shimmer throughout is beautiful and really warms it up.  This is two coats with NYC, and I think it will be my next pedicure shade!

Finally, we have OPI You Only Live Twice, a gorgeous, sparkly magenta!  I didn't give this one much thought in the bottle, but on the nail it is so girly and fun!  Great for those of you wanting something flirty for the holidays, and will also transition well into spring (and any time of year really!!  It reminds me a lot of last summer's Minnie Mouse shades)!  This one put a big smile on my face.  Two coats with NYC top coat.

Out of these six shades, I'd definitely have to say that my favorite is Casino Royale, but I also really like The Spy Who Loved Me (yes, I like a red polish), and You Only Live Twice.  =)  Overall, I think OPI put together a really nice holiday collection here.  I'm happy to add them all to my collection, and I'm already thinking about lots of fun ways to play around with them in nail art!  Which shades are your favorite from the Skyfall Collection??  Will any of these colors make it onto your nails for the holiday?

  1. Lol I have never noticed skyfall in any of the collection swatches. When I first saw it on here my first thought was, "oh, that's pretty ugly" lol. I can't believe the collection is named after that. The only reason I think ppl choose that color is because they like dark reds that are work appropriate? My mom always had so many dark reds when I was growing up.
