Essie Winter 2012 Collection: Swatches and Review!

Hi everyone and happy Monday!  I hope you all had a nice weekend =)  Today I have Essie's Winter 2012 Collection to share with you!  I have seen this referred to as the Leading Lady Collection, though Essie's official press release calls it Essie's 2012 Winter Collection.  I loooooove that this collection includes two blues and two glitters....amazing!

Let's start off with the gorgeous blues, shall we?  This is Essie Where's My Chauffeur?, described by Essie as a "driven, gorgeous turquoise."  This is two coats with no top coat...look at that shine!  The formula on this one was nice...pigmented, shiny, bright and beautiful!  This color is so classic that you can wear it anytime of year, no matter how bright it is!  Love love love!

Next we have Essie Butler Please, a "blue-blooded cobalt."  You know I love shades like this!!  This one dried a bit matte, so I've used two coats and NYC top coat for this swatch.  The formula is a bit thick, but not difficult.  Butler Please is a little dustier and leans a bit more purple than the other vibrant blues I've been crushing on lately (think: Priti NYC Canterbury Bells and butter LONDON Blagger).

Now onto the two reds of the collection.  Honestly, it's not only that I've reviewed 100 reds this holiday season, but I'm just not a red girl.  I think my skin tone has a lot of red undertones, so red polishes make me all lobstery!!!  However, attempting to put those feelings aside, this is Essie Snap Happy, an "incandescent vermillion."  This is two coats with no top, though this one could be a one coater with careful application.  Snap Happy is more of an orange-red than a traditional Christmas red, which makes it sort of unique, but then again, it's another red in a holiday collection!

Essie She's Pampered is a classic red creme described by Essie as a "flagrantly luxe scarlet."  The formula on this was nice...an opaque red creme, not jelly like so many reds are!  This is two coats with no top coat because it shines on its own!  If you love red and you love Essie, then you'll probably want to pick this one up!

Now for the glitters!  Essie Beyond Cozy is a full coverage mellow gold microglitter!  Outstanding.  Essie describes it as "high carat gold sparkle" and I think that is right on!  This one had super nice formula and a flawless application for a glitter shade!  This is two coats with a coat of Gelous!  I feel like this polish is just begging to be worn to a ritzy holiday or New Years Eve party!!

Finally, this is Essie Leading Lady, a "glittering crimson regalia."  I would describe it as small red glitters in a deep cranberry red jelly base.  This is two coats with NYC top coat!  The glitters don't stop this one from applying like a dream.  This reminds me a bit of Shimmer Eva that I reviewed last week, but it's such a classic look and a way to wear red that I actually like!

Overall, I think this collection is great.  Like I said, I am just not a red girl, no matter how hard I try, and I feel like I'm constantly reminded of that this time of year!  Reds everywhere!  The blues and glitters in this collection are absolutely outstanding...and I think Where's My Chauffeur? and Beyond Cozy are must haves for all polish lovers!!  Which are your favorites? =)

  1. The first and the last one are wonderful!

  2. So pretty! I have Butler Please and Leading Lady, but I think I want to pick up Where's My Chauffer and Beyond Cozy, as well!

  3. Where's My Chauffeur is definitely my fav! Leading Lady was a little too tricky to use, in my opinion

  4. does gelous need to cure under a uv lamp?

  5. A Sri Lanka Chauffeur service is useful for a number of reasons such as tours, holidays, business use and maybe even just for those people who prefer not to drive themselves.
