Christmas Tree Stamping Manicure with Gals Cosmetics Fairy Set!

Good afternoon polished friends!  I just got my hands on these stamping plates today, but I could help but play with them right away!  Gals Cosmetics is a sister company to Cheeky Beauty, and they recently released a line of cosmetics and beauty supplies, including two stamping plate sets!  I was so excited to get them in the mail!! =)  The first stamping set I decided to play with is the Gal Fairy Set, available [here].  First, let me show you the manicure I did with this set, and then I'll go into a little review about the plates!  Of course, this manicure will be part of my Holiday Nail Art Series!

How cute is this stamp?!  I LOVE IT!  This image is from Gals Plate GA27!  I started with a base of Barielle Holiday Madness and stamped with China Glaze Cranberry Splash!  I finished with a top coat of NYC.  Super festive, cute, and simple!

This stamp was very easy to use and stamped well!  Overall, I am pleased with the Gals Fairy Set.  The 25 plates come packaged in a small box.  Each plate is covered in a blue protective coating and has a black backing on it, so the edges are not super sharp!  There is a wide variety of images, many of which are quite neutral and geometric, which could be used year-round!

My only complaint is that the all-over images are smaller than the images on the Cheeky Summer Collection plates.  The fit on my nails fine, but if they were much longer, the images would be too short.  Below for comparison is a Gals plate (GA27) next to a Cheeky Summer Collection plate (CH36).

The Fairy Set had quite a few holiday themed designs, so I decided to try those out quickly to assess the plates!  For the following I used these plates: GA36, GA27, GA41, and GA33.  The images transfer pretty well.  I used China Glaze Cranberry Splash for this, but if you use a special stamping polish, I bet your images would be even more crisp and clean.  On my middle finger with the bows, I tried to add an extra column of bows because it didn't quite fit my nail, but that was partially due to my placement.  I think it is nice that there are variety of holiday designs in this set, as well as many others!  Check out the listing on amazon.com [here] for more plate images!

Gals stamping plates are available for purchase on amazon.com!  The Fairy Set sells for $15.99 [here].  Gals also has a second set of plates called the Princess Set, which is $12.99 [here]!  I'll have some manis for you using those plates soon!  Are you going to pick up these new stamping plates?  I can't wait to show you some of the other designs!

  6. I love the first stamp you used in the gold mani! That is my definite favourite and pretty :D and very holiday themed :D

I wish I could buy it but can't at the moment (I'm in South africa so it's quite very pricey for me and I don't have a credit card to buy from amazon) so I'll vicariously live through you right now hehehe :D

I saw you tweet a pic of this so was wondering what it was! Luckily found the blog post so I'm in the loop!
