Good morning friends! Today I have another fun nail art supply from Born Pretty Store and a manicure that is part of my Holiday Nail Art Series 2012! They have such a variety of nail art supplies that every nail fanatic should check out! This is a glitter pot full of snowflake shaped silver glitter! Awesome, right?
These snowflake glitters came nicely packaged in a plastic pot with a screw on lid. I love how Born Pretty Store supplies always come packaged so conveniently. There are TONS of little snowflakes in the pot. The first thing I noticed was that the glitter is quite thin, which would make it easy to work with, but the arms of the snowflakes tend to bend inward a bit, sort of like they are going to give someone a hug! I learned quickly after applying them that it's important to make sure the arms are bent inward toward the nail, so that they aren't sticking up off the nail! Unfortunately that was easier said than done. Even when the glitters were applied that way, they had a tendency to pop up off the nail, even after I'd top coated. However, despite these issues, the finished look was quite cute!
I did a gradient using a cosmetic sponge and OPI No Room For The Blues and OPI Roadhouse Blues. I let it dry and then applied a thick coat of top coat and applied the snowflake glitters, using a dotting tool dipped in top coat to pick them up and place them. Like I said before, some of the snowflakes would pop up over time, so I'd press them back down. Some stayed down, some didn't. I applied top coat over the snowflakes to seal them in. As you can see, my application of the flakes wasn't perfect, but it was my first try and the overall look is still quite appealing and pretty! The snowflakes are so shiny!
The snowflake glitter pot is listed on Born Pretty Store at "Snow Shiny Tiny Glitter Powder Sheets Tips Nail Decoration" and can be found [HERE]. Each pot sells for $4.39, and Born Pretty Store always offers free international shipping. Can't beat that! Also, you can use my code RUL91 for 10% off! Yay!
