butter LONDON Fall/Winter 2012 Shades - Swatches and Review

Hello lacquered loves!  Today I have three gorgeous new butter LONDON Autumn/Winter 2012 polishes to share with you!  mmmmm you know I LOVE my butter LONDON, so I am super excited to show you these pretties!!

First up is butter LONDON Trustafarian, a soft green scattered holo.  I love seeing a big, high-end brand like butter LONDON do something really cool like a holo polish!  And this one is quite nice!  It's definitely scattered, but in the sun it is rainbows everywhere!  I used three thin coats here with no top coat, but I think if you wanted to layer it over a soft green polish, like butter LONDON Bossy Boots, you could probably do one thick coat and save some polish.

In the shade, the holo is basically nonexistant, but the color of the polish base is quite nice.  I wonder how many non-lacquerheads go into the store and buy it because they think it's just a green glittery polish...they'll be in for a big surprise when they walk outside!

Next up is butter LONDON Gobsmacked.  This is gorgeous...I already know that I will reach for this a ton through the cooler months of the year!  This is a charcoal base packed with deep silver and black shimmer.  In the shade, it's pretty, but when you walk out in the sun you realize this one is a SPARKLY STUNNER!  Love it!  This is two coats with top coat.  According to butter LONDON, gobsmacked means "to be totally speechless.  Unable to think of anything to say."  This polish definitely has that effect!

Finally, this is butter LONDON Lovely Jubbly.  This is a gorgeous, girly glitter bomb!  The majority of the glitter particles are magenta, but there are also blue, gold and red specks in there!  Love it!  After the first coat, I thought for sure this would be a layering glitter, but with a second coat, it was nearly opaque!  I added a third coat for good measure and to fill in any gaps.  The only downside to this one is that is sucks up top coat...I used three coats of Out the Door top coat on this, so I would suggest using something a little thicker with it.  Honestly though, I wouldn't mind if this one took ten coats of top coat...it's gorgeous!!

A+ to butter LONDON for this Autumn/Winter Collection!  There are two other polishes in this collection: a silver holo called Dodgy Barnett, and a burnt orange metallic called Shag.  Knowing butter LONDON's tradition of quality and general awesomeness, I'm sure those two are amazing as well.  The three polishes that I got to try are all must-haves in my opinion!  butter LONDON is quickly becoming my favorite high end brand...I'm never disappointed!

butter LONDON polishes retail for $14 and are available at Ulta, Nordstrom, and butter LONDON's website.  In my opinion, they are worth every penny!! =)

The polishes in this post was provided by the company/PR for honest review.  For more information, please see my Disclosure page.

  10. Hmm interesting! I've had my eye on it, for sure, but I think the only place I can track it down as of now is online. Did you have to layer it over something, or did it build up like Lovely Jubbly?!

  15. I've often wondered if those you who aren't Brits wonder what the names mean :) I didn't know they explained them. Am I correct in thinking Butter London is an American Company though? I like their polishes but the only ones I have are Muggins and Lady Muck. Thanks for the great swatches.

  16. I love butter LONDON's names...sometimes I have to look them up, but sometimes I know what they mean from watching SClub7 when I was younger ;-p I believe butter LONDON was founded by a British man, but they are headquartered in Seattle, WA in the States! They have a dictionary explaining their names on their website! http://www.butterlondon.com/dictionary
