For this look, I used two coats of Essie Eternal Optimist as my base color. I love Eternal Optimist...I think it is a must have basic for any nail polish lover's collection!! Then, for my "spun sugar" I used China Glaze White on White. My bottle of WoW is getting to be about 2/3 empty and sort of thick, so it worked well for this technique. I added some Eternal OptimistI originally was inspired to try this by The Nail Buff's post, which linked back to a youtube video by NailsKathy that shows how to do it! If you have questions about how I specifically did the technique, let me know! =)
So my "sugar" is definitely a little on the thick side...it made for a really awesome looking, textural manicure. These pictures are all without top coat. I added some later, but I think it completely altered the look. So unless you only do really thin stripes, I'd say skip the top coat and embrace the bumpiness of this technique!! =) Just give it plenty of dry time. With the new "caviar mani" on the horizon, bumpy is in, right?
Check out the sweet and spicy manicures these other bloggers came up with!

I hope you guys like these nails. I want to try it again with just a few lines across the nail, so it's a bit less bumpy. But I love how these turned out still! Thursday is Day 8! Thanks for reading!! =) <3

Will this technique work without a dotting tool? Perhaps a back of a paintbrush
